Development and optimization of an innovative
photo-Fenton-peroxone system for degrading organic micropollutants in water |

2017 The
activities of 2017 stage have been accomplished as described below: 1. Synthesis, characterization
and testing of Fenton aerogels (Related activities were conducted in 2016 and
2017 stages) 1.1
Surface deposition of Fe nano-oxides on carbon and
doped aerogels through wet impregnation and PLD. 1.2
Physical-chemical properties investigation of unloaded aerogel and Fenton
graphene-aerogel, catalyst composite. 1.3
Evaluation of the MP removal and optimization of the amount of graphene
oxide, Titania-doped graphene and Fe nano-oxides deposited on the aerogel matrices surface to enhance the process efficiency 1.4
Preparation of the promising aerogels in the amounts needed for further
investigations 2. Screening and
economical optimization of photo-Fenton-peroxone process for MPs removal in
batch, at lab scale 2.1.
Study on the
significance of process parameters and interactions between them by means of
screening design (DOE) of batch photo-Fenton-peroxone system for MPs
degradation. 2.2 Mathematical modeling and
optimization by RSM. 3. Screening and
economical optimization of the continuous photo-Fenton-peroxone system for
MPs removal, at micro-pilot scale: 3.1
Design and achievement of a continuous photo-Fenton-peroxone system at
micro-pilot scale with in-situ generation of O3 and H2O2. 3.2
Study of the effects of main parameters of the photo-Fenton-peroxone system
on its performance. 3.3
Study on the significance of process parameters and their interactions of the
coupling system at semi-pilot scale by means of design of experiments 3.4
Mathematical modeling and economical optimization of the coupling system by
RSM for AC and aerogel composites 3.5
Comparative analysis of the investigated Fenton catalysts in terms of
efficiency and operating costs List
